Come join our new Americorps worker Tanner and site caretaker Terry to do some fun and worthwhile work in the Alder Creek riparian area, one of the most heavily used parts of the ACCF site by school groups.
You will clip blackberries, whack weeds, clear trails, protect transplanted native seedlings, and otherwise make the riparian area safe, accessible, and ready for educational events.
We will provide you snacks and tools, but make sure to wear safe clothing and if you have helpful tools please bring them along.
Alder Creek starts at the top of Canyon Mountain and joins Jordan Creek beyond the ACCF site. It’s officially an anadromous fish bearing stream, thus the D-shaped culvert as you cross into the ACCF site, designed for fish to readily migrate upstream.
Come learn more about the ecological and educational role Alder Creek plays on the ACCF site, and thank you in advance for your volunteer assistance!
